B&B ITALIA MONOBRAND STORE - SP
THE SPACE PROJECT

The project stems from the idea of wanting to create a showroom according to a new concept of purchase, a mixture of consumption and culture, a container where to accommodate the consumer in a unique territory.

In fact, the intent was not to think only to its primary function, exhibition, but to think about every interior space as an art gallery.

The project was developed following the original perimeter of a historic building of “Jardins” district, an area originally designed as an urban park. The initial conditions were an inspiration for us to break this perimeter in a very smooth way, through openings that could fulfill the space with light.

The cement - pure and simple, a key element in Brutalist architecture - has defined the main surfaces, both internally and externally by creating visual continuity in the space.

The iron defines the character. The metal blades, running full-height through the building, cut the original masonry creating a series of light gaps. The glass reflects the exuberant vegetation while playing with its reflexion through the large windows.

For the opening of the B&B Italia Store, the first exhibition to be held -”150 x150” by curator Giovanna Fiorenza - will be set up with the works of Marco Currò, Italian abstract artist photographing the reflections of sunlight , and the Brazilian photographer Ruy Teixeira, who plays with Ettore Sottsass’ bright colors and forms.

B&B ITALIA OPENS A NEW MONOBRAND STORE IN SAO PAULO

April 2016

At the end of April, B&B Italia will open a new monobrand store in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in partnership with Casual Moveis, its established regional partner with which it shares the same vision and philosophy.

Located in the heart of Sao Paulo’s design district, the store will be a 13,000 sq. ft. space over 3 floors dedicated entirely to display the best of B&B Italia and Maxalto collections, and will represent the image of the brand through settings of contemporary visual language.

The space presents multiple areas of different styles that range from the minimalist to the decorative, but always with the accent on contemporary living. A sophisticated interplay of architecture and graphic design, monochrome and color, creates the perfect setting for presentations with deep impact and intense atmosphere, initiating a harmonious dialogue with nature.
The high ceilings, exposure to natural and indoor lighting create ambiances evoking moods, trends and emotions rather than arranging the spaces as conventional rooms. The setting is spontaneous, intuitive and welcoming at the same time.
The resulting mood is surprising, spectacular, and expresses the refinement and elegance that is evocative of B&B Italia. This store includes a custom rooftop space to display the B&B Italia Outdoor collection and the exotic, lush greenery embedded in the exterior surrounding walls, creating a look that mimics a tropical oasis setting for B&B Italia and Maxalto collections in Brazil’s largest metropolitan city.

The opening of B&B Italia Store Sao Paulo is the result of the strong and growing relationship with Casual Moveis, the existing partner of the 6,500 sq. ft. B&B Italia monobrand store in Belo Horizonte. The opening of this new store in April precisely marks the 3-year anniversary of the Casual Moveis’ partnership with B&B Italia. Thanks to their experience, the new store aims to be a beacon of quality and professionalism, and a new destination in Brazil’s largest city to experience the best in contemporary Italian design.

Today, B&B Italia has 47 monobrand stores in the world and has signed commercial agreements with leading players in 79 countries, thus developing a presence of over 800 specialist points of sale.
